Alex Sangha

Alex Sangha is a Registered Social Worker in British Columbia.  He completed a MSc in Public Administration and Public Policy from the Department of Government at the London School of Economics, and a Bachelor of Social Work with a First Class Standing from the University of British Columbia. 

As a young adult, Alex travelled to Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Victoria Falls on a United Nations Development and Environmet tour of Africa.  Upon his return he delivered presentations to high school students on sustainable development. 

Most recently, Alex lobbied local politicians and delivered a speech to Vancouver City Council to come up with incentives to reduce, reuse, and recycle plastic shopping bags. 

In 2008, Alex was selected by the Georgia Straight newspaper in their Best of Vancouver issue as a bright light who challenges the status quo.

In 2011, Alex was nominated for the Royal Bank Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards for his social activism and social work.

Alex Sangha is the author of Imagine: Ideas that Challenge the Status Quo which is available as an e-book or paperback through Amazon.
